TOP PICK

One of his favourite semi companies. Continues taking market share from Intel. Massive revenue growth expectations. Xilinx acquisition adds a lot. No dividend. (Analysts’ price target is $101.03)

BUY
It went from $94 to $74 and he bought today. Yes, a chip shortage and a new, good CEO at Intel are on his mind, but you must buy now.
COMMENT

If they hadn't bought Xilinx, this would be at $100. Be patient. The CEO has a good plan and they enjoy strong demand.

TOP PICK
The semi shortage is on, and there's no shortage of demand (from cars to videogames). AMD is a consistently better performer. It consolidated around $88-90 and is now moving up to $95ish. Supply can't keep up with demand, which is a good problem to have. The next few quarters will look pretty good. (Analysts’ price target is $100.74)
BUY

They're buying Xilinx which is a great deal. Run by a superb CEO.

BUY

Intel's disappointing report yesterday could benefit AMD which has broken into the hottest category with its chips where Intel has fallen behind. He expects a blow-out report on Tuesday. Their Xilinx purchase may put a drag on the stock.

PAST TOP PICK

(A Top Pick Dec 06/19, Up 125%) Price target of $104. The darling out there. If you own it, hold on. You can probably wait for lower $80s or high 70s. Fantastically run. Right place, right time. Main positives: 7 nanometer GPUs, buying Xilinx, and institutions bought up about 10% of the float.

BUY
Intel's rally today pushed rival AMD down nearly 4%, which makes it a buying opportunity. The CEO is excellent, now making better chips than rival AMD.
COMMENT

AMD is buying Xilinx which will make it stronger in 2022. Tech remains a trend to watch in 2021.

PAST TOP PICK

(A Top Pick Oct 30/20, Up 21%) Still one of his favourite semiconductor stocks. Has pulled back a bit, as big companies are floating the idea of making chips in-house. Intel's loss is AMD's gain. At the forefront of CPU performance. Tons of room to continue to take market share from Intel and servers, which is the bigger opportunity.

PAST TOP PICK

(A Top Pick Dec 06/19, Up 133%) A bit pricey here. His price target is $98. Look to buy it in the lower $80s and, if possible, in the upper 70s. They keep knocking it out of the park. Three positives: aggressive R&D, buying Xilinx, aggressive institutional buying.

BUY

Forget semi ETFs and buy individual semi stocks. They are too different to buy as a group. It's taken a ton of market share from Intel. It has a terrific presence in the data centre, and is the only major player in gaming besides Nvidia. Also, if their Xilinx deal is approved, they'll enjoy strong cell phone and defence exposure.

PAST TOP PICK

(A Top Pick Dec 06/19, Up 112%) He's continued to buy. Pretty volatile, so you'll probably have the opportunity to buy lower. Buy 1/3, then 1/3 in the $70s, and 1/3 in the $60s. Aggressive product strategy and institutional buying, plus working on beneficial Xilinx acquisition. Price target of $95.

BUY

Their reported numbers that were perfect and he didn't expect the Xilinx takeover to hurt AMD's share price, but investors dumped the stock. It's come back this week in the election rally, 5% today only.
