Rallied well so probably take some profits here. He is not a big fan of ETFs. These are pretty good instruments, however, for broad exposure short term.

DON'T BUY

1 to 5 yr Ladder Corp Bond ETF. There are better alternatives available. The short end of the yield curve (1 to 5 years), especially on a laddered basis, the rates are fairly low. A lot of the money has been made on this part of the yield curve. Would suggest iShares Cdn Corp Bond E.T.F. (XCB-T) instead, which has a fairly good yield of about 4.8%.

Ladder bond approach and short term in nature. Spreads out maturities over many years.

Inverse ETFs can be bought in registered accounts, but there are more sophisticated ways to do the same thing in a registered account. Same for XCB-T

Great product. Ladder portfolio process is a one that he has been preaching for 12 years. Very low cost fund also.

COMMENT

1 to 4 year laddered corporate bonds. The minimum rating of the bonds is A so there are no BBB bonds. It is staggered in terms of the maturity.
