BUY ON WEAKNESS
Sold at $208, but buyback at $190-195? That was a good sale price. At the start of January, Visa started to outperform the S&P. There's support at $196 and $187, so look at re-entering at $185-6.
BUY
For growth The chart is on fire with lots of runway in and outside North America. They're also getting into cloud operations with the Plaid acquisition recently. Visa boasts earnings stability, too.
BUY

Definitely, he'd buy it today, along with Mastercard and AmEx. The chart is superb and has nowhere to go but up.

COMMENT

WeChat is expanding their payment system outside of China. He has no idea how this will affect V-N. He owns MA-N and not V-N. It would take a lot of capital to compete with either of these. There are a lot of countries where cash is primarily used to settle transactions. MA-N and V-N can use technology to complete with BABA-N's payment system.

TOP PICK
People are using credit cards more and cash less. Credit card applications and applications continue to soar. Visa just bought Plaid that'll accelerate their fintech division and lead to peer-to-peer transactions like VMO. (Analysts’ price target is $212.86)
BUY ON WEAKNESS

Safe to buy at this level? He owns both Visa and Mastercard. They both score well on ROE. Trading at 25 times earnings, they are getting expensive. He would be leery of buying them here. He would wait for a pullback to buy.

BUY
It has benefited from the secular multiyear theme in moving transactions to digital. They are the giant among the key gatekeepers. They will continue to grow rapidly. It has global exposure and all the major new technologies link into it.
PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Jan 10/19, Up 41%) The transition to digital currency benefits Visa; more online commerce means more Visa payments. Likes this sector's long-term growth. The valuation has risen, so wait for their next earnings report. They just acquired the Plaid platform for fintech, a small purchase, but it builds on Visa's long-term strategy. Buy on weakness.
STRONG BUY

If you own this for a long, long time, it doesn't matter so much when you enter. Visa keeps rising. This and Mastercard will do well. You can buy it now and hold. Their Plaid purchase--an investment in fintech--will be a brilliant acquisition long-term. He continues to buy this.

COMMENT
It has done phenomenal well. You will be uncomfortable with valuation at this point if you own it. If we are looking at a lower interest rates then we end up with a higher valuation. They seem to have a piece of every transaction out there.
BUY

He bought MA-N about three years ago and more than doubled his money. These stocks are on a roll. They are simple businesses but have a monopoly. He thinks we will get to 100% electronic transactions eventually but some countries like Italy are at 25% so they have a long way to go.

PAST TOP PICK
(A Top Pick Dec 19/18, Up 44%) Transactions are the name of the game, they do not take on credit risk. They sold this back around low $180s when it was trading at 30 times earnings. He would love to buy back at a lower price.
BUY ON WEAKNESS
As a growth stock It's a toll booth. Whenever you use a Visa card anywhere, Visa gets a piece of the action. Also the bank takes the credit risk, not Visa. There's still good international growth as fewer people use cash. Meanwhile, Visa is active in e-commerce.
BUY ON WEAKNESS

non-FANG suggestion? He likes the payment processing space -- ADP, Paychex, Visa, or Mastercard. He would like to buy on a dip.

DON'T BUY

It's flying too high. Its FMV is 40% lower than the current price. Watch out! Same goes with MasterCard. Both are WAY overpriced, based on book value and earnings.
